Clinical Dietitian
This is a contract position, onsite in North Houston. You will provide nutritional assessment of pediatric patients, care plan development and management of needs across the patient care continuum as well as provide education and special project support to the clinical nutrition staff and department.
• Provides age-appropriate assessments and reassessments of all patients identified at nutrition risk to include diabetes management and education per established timeframe/guidelines. Adapts nutrition plan to specific economic, social, cultural, and age-appropriate patient needs utilizing progressive problem solving skills.
• Implements proactive patient management through identification of trends, anticipatory interventions, non apparent barriers such as cognitive or behavioral issues, medication side effects.
• Utilizes Nutrition Focused Physical Exams and other diagnostics and incorporates findings into interpretation and interventions of health condition.
• Identifies and provides education opportunities to staff /students that increase skills (nursing course lectures, dietetic intern lectures, medical student/resident training).
• Participates in the orientation of training of clinical nutrition staff to include oversight of pathways for key areas as well as critical competencies.
Required:
4 years of RD experience, pediatrics preferred. Specialty certification such as CSP or CNSC
Critical care (enteral and parenteral nutrition), GI, oncology, basic renal, and wound care coverage NICU experience
Knowledge of pediatric nutrition, and pediatric medical nutrition therapy
LD or RD Certification Required
